  • Iran’s president says the US and ‘Israel’ started the war against Iran, while Tehran “stood firmly against the aggressors.”
  • He warns that Muslim countries should not allow their territory to be used to launch attacks against neighboring states.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran did not initiate the war in the region, arguing that his country instead “stood firmly against the aggressors.”

“The US and the Zionist entity launched a war on Iran,” Pezeshkian said during the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, according to Iranian state media.

His remarks come amid continued regional tensions and exchanges involving Iran, the US and ‘Israel’.

Pezeshkian also reiterated Tehran’s position that neighboring countries must not allow their territory to be used for attacks against Iran.

“No Muslim country should pursue its security in the insecurity of its neighbors,” he said.

“No Muslim country’s territory should be used against another Muslim nation,” he added.

The Iranian president has repeatedly called for greater cooperation among Muslim-majority countries, emphasizing regional security and opposition to the use of neighboring states as launch points for military operations.

His comments at the Islamic Unity Conference focused on the need for Muslim countries to avoid actions that could deepen regional instability and undermine the security of neighboring states.
