US President Donald Trump welcomed the newly signed Mecca Joint Defence Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, praising the trilateral pact on Truth Social as a major shift toward regional self-reliance.

In his statement, President Trump highlighted the agreement as evidence of growing alignment across the region, offering congratulations to the leadership of the three signatory nations.

"Very happy to see that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have recently, and finally, signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement," President Trump posted on Truth Social. "It shows how the Middle East is coming together, and how Countries will finally be able to defend themselves in a more meaningful way. Congratulations to the Great Leadership of the three Nations mentioned. THIS IS A BIG, BOLD, AND IMPORTANT FIRST STEP — WOW!"

Pakistan's Sharif appreciates US backing

Responding directly via X, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep appreciation for President Trump's endorsement of the trilateral security framework.

Sharif affirmed that Pakistan, alongside Saudi Arabia and Turkey, would maintain a constructive role in maintaining regional security, while also thanking Trump for his prior intervention during heightened South Asian tensions.

"Deeply appreciate President Donald Trump’s kind words of support on the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement," Prime Minister Sharif stated on X. "Together with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkiye, Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in ensuring the defence of our own countries as well as the entire region."

Sharif further added:

"I would also like to once again commend President Trump for his courageous and decisive leadership, which helped avert a nuclear catastrophe in South Asia and saved millions of lives. Durable peace is the most essential prerequisite for a bright and prosperous future for our peoples."
