Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is not currently holding negotiations with the United States, with communication limited to messages exchanged through intermediaries.
Speaking in comments carried by Iran’s Mehr news agency, Araghchi said mediators were continuing efforts to create conditions for a resumption of talks.
Araghchi said Iran does not believe negotiations can restart until Washington addresses what Tehran considers violations of a memorandum of understanding previously reached between the two sides.
“Efforts are under way to create grounds for negotiations,” he said, reiterating that there was no possibility of resuming talks until the US corrected its violations.

Araghchi also addressed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying changes to maritime routes were a technical and legal matter.
He stressed that such changes should not be interpreted as an opening of the strategic waterway.
