The Iranian-backed Houthi group renewed its ballistic missile targeting of Marib city on Saturday, striking densely populated residential areas and displacement camps, according to a statement released by the Armed Forces Media Center.

A military source told the Armed Forces Media Center that Yemeni armed forces will not hesitate to fulfill their national duty to protect civilians, confront Houthi aggression, and pursue their mission to restore state authority and liberate the capital, Sana'a, from the Iranian-backed Houthi.

"The armed forces will respond to these terrorist Houthi attacks at the appropriate time and place, in a manner that ensures the deterrence of the militia and the protection of civilians and public interests," the military source stated.

The fresh escalation follows attacks launched by Houthi forces on Friday that targeted the Jaw Al-Naseem and Al-Mail displacement camps north of Marib city.

According to official military media, those strikes resulted in the martyrdom of two civilians and wounded 14 others, the majority of whom were women and children.

The Armed Forces Media Center highlighted that the Houthi militia is persisting in its escalation and targeting of civilians and displacement camps, while confirming that the armed forces remain fully prepared to handle all threats and fulfill their duty to safeguard Marib and its residents.
