At least two people were killed and 13 others injured in an explosion that targeted a passenger bus in the city of Jaramana in the Damascus countryside, according to initial figures released by Syria Civil Defence and health authorities.

Syrian State TV, citing an official security source, confirmed that the blast was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that had been planted directly inside the civilian bus, resulting in multiple casualties.

Following the attack, the Syrian Ministry of Health stated that forensic medical teams were deployed to the scene to handle human remains and process the site.

To cope with the influx of victims, health officials confirmed that hospitals and the rapid ambulance network have been placed on heightened alert to ensure all injured individuals are swiftly transported and provided with emergency medical care.

Security forces and emergency responders continue to secure the area and investigate the circumstances surrounding the bombing.
