UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory Francesca Albanese issued a sharp condemnation on social media following escalating violence in the West Bank, characterizing widespread settler attacks against Palestinians as "pogroms."

"Pogroms against defenseless civilians all over the West Bank (while Gaza is under fire)," Albanese wrote in a statement on X. "'Israeli' civilians and army joining forces."

Calls for immediate arms embargo, trade sanctions

Albanese rejected claims that the violence is limited to extreme elements or high-level leadership. "It is not just Netanyahu and few 'rotten apples,'" she stated. "THIS IS ISRAEL."

The UN rapporteur urged the international community to take immediate restrictive measures against 'Israel' to uphold international legal standards. "ARMS EMBARGO NOW - STOP TRADE NOW," Albanese added. "This is what intl law requires."
