US President Donald Trump is considering restarting major combat operations against Iran, saying Tehran has "not received enough pain yet" and warning that Washington is prepared for further military action.

In an interview with Axios, Trump was quoted as saying he is considering "a massive attack" against Iran, describing a potential operation as "bigger than ever before."

"I am close to making a decision. We are all set for it," Trump said, according to Axios.

Trump said he understands such a move would carry consequences but stressed that he has not yet made a final determination.

The president said ‘Israel’ would join any potential strikes against Iran if he requested its involvement.

"‘Israel’ would join in two minutes if I asked them to," Trump was quoted as saying.

Trump warned there would be consequences if ‘Israel’ participated in further attacks, referring to the possibility of Iranian retaliation against ‘Israel’.

He also claimed that Iran wants to negotiate with Washington but is not yet prepared to reach an agreement.

"They haven't received enough pain yet," Trump said.

The comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with both sides facing renewed confrontation following recent military exchanges in the region.
