In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denounced the Houthi remarks accusing Riyadh of imposing a blockade on the Yemeni people, firmly rejecting threats that target the security and freedom of navigation.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, emphasized Jordan’s unequivocal rejection and strong condemnation of the statements.
He reaffirmed Jordan’s absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia, standing firmly alongside the Kingdom in all measures it undertakes to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
Call for international enforcement
Ambassador Al-Majali urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by ensuring the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Specifically, he called for adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 2216 regarding Yemen and Resolution 2722, which guarantees rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
The ministry concluded by stressing that freedom of navigation in international waterways remains a fundamental right guaranteed under international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
