Fire crews in Kuwait successfully brought two major blazes under control on Saturday afternoon after the locations were targeted during hostile attacks stemming from "criminal Iranian aggression" against the country.

The emergency response was highly dangerous, as a secondary strike directly hit first responders while they were actively battling the flames.

Firefighters injured in secondary targeting

Brigadier General Mohammed Badar Ibrahim, the official spokesperson for the Public Fire Force, announced that a massive mobilization was required to handle the initial attacks.

The first targeted location required the deployment of five fire crews, working alongside specialized support teams from the oil sector's fire units. The second site was engaged by three fire crews.

While crews immediately began firefighting and control operations upon arrival, the situation turned critical at the first site. The location was targeted a second time during active firefighting operations.

This secondary strike resulted in injuries to several firefighters and one oil sector worker.

First aid was administered on-scene before the injured personnel were handed over to medical emergency teams and transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Falling shrapnel sparks residential blazes

In addition to the primary target sites, the military interception of the attacks caused hazardous debris to rain down on civil infrastructure.

Brigadier General Mohammed Badar added that Public Fire Force teams simultaneously dealt with three separate fires that broke out across several residential areas due to falling shrapnel.

Emergency teams successfully controlled and extinguished all three residential blazes.

Officials confirmed that damages from the shrapnel falls were limited strictly to material losses, with no civilian injuries recorded.
