Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed Friday that it destroyed a long-range radar system and several US strategic aerial refueling aircraft during what it described as a large-scale strike on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

According to Iran's state-affiliated Fars News Agency, citing an IRGC statement, the attack was carried out as part of the 15th wave of Operation Nasr 2, which the force said was launched in retaliation for recent US strikes on Iran.

The IRGC said the operation targeted the US military installation in a "heavy and surprise attack," claiming one long-range radar system and several strategic refueling aircraft were "completely destroyed," while several additional aircraft sustained significant damage. The claims have not been independently verified.

In its statement, the IRGC said the operation was intended to "punish the aggressor" and described it as a response to what it called recent US attacks that killed Iranian civilians.

The force also issued a warning to the United States and countries hosting US military bases in the region, saying any further attacks on Iran or its civilian infrastructure would result in "far more severe" retaliation.
