Jordan's armed forces said Friday that the country's air defense systems intercepted and shot down three Iranian missiles that entered Jordanian airspace and were targeting the kingdom.

A military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army said the interceptions took place on Friday morning as part of the military's defensive measures and established operational procedures aimed at protecting the kingdom's sovereignty, securing its airspace, and ensuring the safety of its citizens.

The source said the interception operation resulted in no casualties or material damage.

Teams from the Royal Engineering Corps were deployed to the locations where missile debris fell. The teams secured the sites and handled the remnants in accordance with approved technical and security procedures, the source added.

The military source said the Jordan Armed Forces continue to monitor the kingdom's airspace and remain at the highest level of operational readiness to respond to any potential threats in line with the military's rules of engagement.
