Jordan's Armed Forces said on Thursday that its air defense systems intercepted eight Iranian missiles that were targeting the kingdom during the early hours of the morning.

In a statement, a military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said the interceptions were carried out as part of defensive and operational measures aimed at safeguarding the kingdom's sovereignty, protecting its airspace, and ensuring the safety of its citizens.

The military said the incidents caused no casualties or material damage.

It added that Royal Engineering Corps teams responded to missile debris that fell in several locations across the country, securing the sites in accordance with technical and security procedures.

The source stressed that Jordan's armed forces remain on high alert and continue to monitor the country's airspace, warning that they will respond to any threat in line with the military's established rules of engagement.

The military also urged the public to rely on official sources for information and avoid spreading rumors or unverified reports.
