Against the backdrop of escalating military tensions in the Gulf region, the United States has announced the suspension of all consular appointments in the United Arab Emirates starting Monday.
The security-related closure will halt regular consular operations at both major American diplomatic posts in the country for a duration of three days.
The operational freeze affects both the capital and the country's primary commercial hub.
Diplomatic officials confirmed that the temporary measure was enacted swiftly in response to the volatile security environment currently unfolding across the broader region.
"The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and US Consulate General in Dubai have canceled consular appointments from July 13 to 15 due to the regional security situation," the official advisory stated.
In light of the sudden cancellations, US authorities issued explicit instructions to citizens residing in or visiting the UAE who had previously secured bookings during the designated three-day window.
The advisory warned that Americans with appointments scheduled on those specific dates must not attempt to travel to or enter the embassy or consulate facilities.
Officials assured the public that staff will proactively contact all affected individuals to reschedule their missed appointments once normal operations are cleared to resume.
