US President Donald Trump and ‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone call on Thursday evening, agreeing to continue coordination between their countries on regional issues, according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office.

The statement said Trump updated Netanyahu on US actions in the Gulf, while Netanyahu raised concerns over statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his allies regarding ‘Israel’.

Netanyahu also stressed the need to maintain security zones along ‘Israel’s’ borders, according to the readout.

The call came after tensions between Ankara and ‘Israel’ increased, with Turkey accusing ‘Israel’ of undermining the US-Iran memorandum of understanding. Concerns have also emerged over a potential sale of advanced F-35 fighter jets to Turkey, which Trump discussed during the NATO summit in Ankara.

In an interview with CNN, Netanyahu criticized Erdoğan, saying he is “not exactly a model ally of the United States,” and accused him of threatening ‘Israel’.

Iran said a military base near the southern city of Bushehr was hit by a projectile, according to state television.

Iranian state television denied reports of explosions in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, Sirik, and Jask, saying no blasts had occurred in those areas so far.

A US official told CNN that the US military is not currently conducting strikes.

He reiterated that ‘Israel’s’ policy is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, “with or without an agreement.”

Netanyahu also said maintaining air superiority is a key element of national security and regional stability, adding that regional alliances are shifting and require continued monitoring.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held separate phone calls with his Turkish and Omani counterparts on Thursday as tensions continued to rise in the region.

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the discussions focused on recent regional developments, particularly the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, along with other issues of mutual interest.

The ministry said the officials stressed the need to use diplomatic channels, maintain communication, and coordinate efforts to prevent further escalation.

The talks came as international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz declined following renewed US strikes on Iranian coastal installations, according to marine tracking data.

A US official previously told CNN that Iran fired on three commercial vessels in Oman’s territorial waters near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday. The incidents have led to repeated US retaliatory actions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned against any further US military “adventurism” after condemning recent US attacks on Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Araghchi made the remarks during a phone call with Pakistan’s army chief, where he described the US strikes as a violation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.

Araghchi called for preventing further escalation and warned that continued military actions could worsen tensions in the region.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned what it described as repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.

In a statement, the ministry said it “condemns the repeated unjustified Iranian attacks” and renewed its rejection of what it called Iran’s violations of the sovereignty of neighboring countries.

The ministry warned that continued actions threaten regional security and stability, calling for respect for the sovereignty and safety of Gulf and Arab states.

France is considering Syria as a possible alternative route for Gulf oil exports to reduce reliance on the Strait of Hormuz following renewed US-Iran attacks in the area.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in an interview with TF1 that new energy corridors are needed to protect global supplies from potential disruptions.

“Among all the efforts we have made since the start of this crisis, there is the idea of preparing alternative routes so that we are not dependent on blockages here or there,” Barrot said.

Three members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in US strikes on Iran, according to Iran’s Mizan news agency.

The deaths come amid renewed exchanges of attacks that have repeatedly put a ceasefire under pressure. Thursday’s strikes appeared to mark a wider escalation, with both sides carrying out more significant operations.

US President Donald Trump has sent mixed signals over the situation, approving additional military strikes while saying they do not represent a return to a full-scale war.

Qatar on Thursday strongly condemned what it described as repeated Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, warning that the escalation poses a direct threat to regional security and stability.

In a statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attacks and stressed the need to spare the Middle East the consequences of what it called "unjustified military actions."

The ministry urged all parties to exercise restraint and continue pursuing political dialogue and diplomatic solutions to resolve regional disputes and prevent further escalation.

Qatar also reaffirmed its full solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, expressing support for all measures taken by the three countries to safeguard their sovereignty, protect their citizens, and preserve national stability.

The statement comes amid growing regional concern over escalating tensions and renewed security threats across the Gulf.

Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem reiterates his group's rejection of a US-backed framework agreement reached between ‘Israel’ and Lebanon aimed at ending a war between the two sides.

"Ultimately, not a single clause of this agreement will pass, and you won't be able to do anything about it," Qassem says in a speech in Beirut during a memorial event for slain Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

The Jordanian army said Thursday that air defenses intercepted and shot down eight missiles launched from Iran toward Jordanian territory.

The statement said the interceptions resulted in the fall of several pieces of debris, with no casualties or property damage reported.

“The Jordanian Armed Forces…will not allow any violation of Jordanian airspace by any party,” the statement concluded.

Air raid sirens were activated in Jordan on Thursday after the country’s airspace was “breached” by missiles launched from Iran, according to a statement by the Jordanian government spokesman. 

“The missiles were intercepted and dealt with,” the statement added.

“The Jordan Armed Forces remain on high alert to respond to any threat facing the Kingdom and are deploying all efforts to safeguard the nation's security and the safety of its citizens,” it added in its statement.

Videos shared on social media on July 8 showed a powerful explosion shaking the Iranian port city of Chabahar as the United States and Iran exchanged strikes for a second consecutive day.

The footage, which could not be independently verified, appeared to capture a large blast followed by a plume of smoke rising over the city. Iranian authorities had not immediately commented on the reported explosion.
