Two men found guilty of taking part in the stabbing of Iran International journalist Pouria Zeraati are due to be sentenced in London on Friday after being convicted over what prosecutors described as an attack carried out "on behalf of the Iranian state."
Zeraati was attacked outside his home in the Wimbledon area of southwest London on March 29, 2024, suffering three stab wounds to his thigh.
During the trial, prosecutors said the assault was a premeditated operation involving surveillance of the journalist before the attack and alleged it had been ordered by a third party acting on behalf of the Iranian state.
Last month, Romanian nationals Nandito Badea, 21, and George Stana, 25, were found guilty of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following a trial at the Woolwich Crown Court.
The two men, who denied the charges throughout the proceedings, are scheduled to be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey).
