Amman is set to welcome the national football team, Al Nashama, on Tuesday as players, coaching staff, and officials return following Jordan’s historic first participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Public and official attention is focused on Queen Alia International Airport, where preparations have been completed for a large reception reflecting national pride in the team’s debut on football’s biggest stage.

The squad exits the tournament after the group stage, following defeats to Argentina, Austria, and Algeria, but returns to widespread domestic recognition for a landmark campaign.

Jordan lost 3–1 to Argentina, 3–1 to Austria, and 2–1 to Algeria.

According to arrangements between the Jordan Football Association and relevant authorities, the reception will take place on two tracks.

The official reception will see the team arrive Tuesday morning at Queen Alia International Airport, where senior state officials and sports leaders are expected to greet the delegation in recognition of their efforts.

A separate public convoy has also been organized, with the team bus set to travel through designated routes to allow fans to greet and celebrate the players.

Despite the early exit, the national mood has been shaped by pride in Jordan’s first World Cup appearance.

The team managed to score against all opponents it faced, including Austria, Algeria, and Argentina, leaving a strong impression despite the exit.
