  • Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is assisting the victim's family and supporting citizens in the disaster zone.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced on Monday the discovery of the body of a Jordanian woman who was trapped beneath collapsed infrastructure following the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela.

Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, the official spokesperson for the ministry, confirmed that the specialized Jordanian International Search and Rescue Team actively assisted in locating and recovering the citizen's body from the debris field.

Consular coordination, family support

In the wake of the tragedy, the Ministry's Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs, working alongside the Jordanian Embassy in Brazil—which oversees diplomatic relations for the region—is closely managing the situation.

Ambassador Al-Majali stated that the diplomatic missions are focused on providing all necessary administrative, legal, and emotional support to the victim's family during the repatriation process, while simultaneously monitoring the welfare of the broader Jordanian expatriate community currently in Venezuela.

Emergency channels activated

To ensure the safety of other nationals amid ongoing aftershocks and widespread logistical disruptions across the country, the Foreign Ministry has urged all Jordanians residing or presently traveling in Venezuela to establish immediate contact with emergency services.

The designated lines are fully staffed and operational around the clock to process requests for evacuation aid, safety registration, or emergency consular assistance.
