- Kuwait condemns what it calls repeated Iranian attacks as a violation of its sovereignty.
- The Gulf state says it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its security.
Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned what it described as repeated Iranian attacks on the country, calling them a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and international law.
In a statement, the ministry warned that the attacks undermine ongoing regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and challenge the international community's push for stability.
Kuwait said it reserves the full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, and protect its citizens and residents.
The statement came after Iran said it had targeted the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, claiming the strike was aimed at US forces following US attacks on Iran's coastal region, which Washington said were carried out in response to assaults on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
