Australia lowers travel warning for Middle East

Australia has lowered its general travel warning level for the Gulf region and the Middle East, Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced.

The Australian government reduced its travel advisory level for Bahrain, 'Israel', Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, urging citizens to reconsider the need for travel to those destinations.

Wong also advised Australians to postpone non-essential travel to the region, warning that the security situation remains volatile and could deteriorate suddenly.
