Strait of Hormuz completely closed “until further notice”: Iran

Iran announced Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz is now completely closed “until further notice,” following overnight US attacks on the country.

“In light of the tensions created by the invading American forces in the region and the announcement by Iran's armed forces last night, the #Strait_of_Hormuz will be closed until further notice,” said a statement on X by what Iran calls the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority”.

“Applicants who have received passage permits are requested to remain patient and await further guidance from the PGSA,” it added.
