‘Israeli’ National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded to Ireland’s decision to impose a travel ban on him, declaring that criticism from the Irish prime minister validates his actions.

“If this antisemite is calling for sanctions against me, I must have done something right,” Ben-Gvir stated on the social media platform X.

The remark came shortly after Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin confirmed that Ireland had barred Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering the country.

Martin cited the ministers’ statements and conduct, including Ben-Gvir’s recent video involving detained Gaza-bound flotilla activists, as reflecting “a desire to see the elimination of Palestinians from Palestine.”

Ben-Gvir, a key figure in ‘Israel’s’ far-right coalition, framed the Irish measure as evidence of his effectiveness in defending ‘Israeli’ interests.

The travel ban aligns with similar restrictions previously enacted by several countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway.

These measures have largely stemmed from incitement related to settler violence in the West Bank.

Speaking at the EU-Western Balkans summit in Montenegro, Martin indicated that Ireland would advocate for broader European Union sanctions against the two ‘Israeli’ ministers.

He described their behavior as justifying such action at the EU level.
