Trump says he would be ‘honoured’ to meet Iran’s supreme leader

US President Donald Trump said he would be open to meeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei if ongoing negotiations result in an agreement to end the war.

“I don’t want to meet but if I did meet, I’d be honoured to meet him,” Trump said, adding that a meeting could take place if a deal is reached. He also said he would approach such a meeting with respect. Trump’s remarks come as diplomatic efforts continue to secure a lasting agreement between Washington and Tehran.
