Kuwaiti authorities have captured three inmates who escaped from a correctional facility, bringing an end to a large-scale security operation launched following their disappearance.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said the fugitives were arrested after extensive investigations, surveillance efforts, and continuous pursuit by security forces.
The ministry said the operation was carried out by the General Department of Criminal Investigation with support from Special Security Forces and the Police Aviation Wing, which assisted in tracking the suspects from the air.
According to the statement, security teams successfully identified the inmates’ locations before conducting raids that led to their arrest. The three men will be transferred to the relevant authorities to complete legal procedures related to the escape.
Authorities also recovered two firearms found in the suspects’ possession during the operation. The ministry said officers followed established security protocols while dealing with the situation to ensure public safety.
The arrests came one day after the Interior Ministry announced the formation of a special investigation committee to examine how the three Kuwaiti nationals managed to escape from the correctional institution.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing the law and maintaining public security, stressing that security forces will continue to pursue anyone who threatens public order.
