Abu Dhabi has suspended any increase in rental prices across the emirate until further notice, according to the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre, the official authority overseeing the sector.
The centre confirmed in an official response to public inquiries that no rent increases will be permitted under any circumstances for both new lease agreements and renewed contracts.
The decision applies broadly across the emirate and covers all residential leasing activity, aiming to regulate market conditions and maintain stability in rental pricing.
Under the new guidance, the rental value used in any agreement will be based on the most recent rent recorded for the same property in the previous contract.
The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre stressed that landlords are not allowed to raise rental prices during the current period, in line with regulatory directives designed to control the real estate market.
