  • Several Americans were reportedly injured after an Iranian missile attack targeted a military air base in Kuwait.
  • The incident comes as President Donald Trump considers a proposal from Tehran aimed at extending a ceasefire and reviving negotiations.

Several Americans were reportedly injured after an Iranian missile struck near a military air base in Kuwait, as US President Donald Trump weighs a proposal from Tehran that could extend a fragile ceasefire and restart diplomatic talks.

According to Bloomberg News, the attack occurred within the past 24 hours and involved an incoming Fateh-110 ballistic missile targeting Ali Al Salem Air Base in northern Kuwait.

Sources cited by the outlet said the injuries were minor and affected both US military personnel and civilian contractors. Kuwaiti air defenses reportedly intercepted the missile, but falling debris caused damage inside the base.

The incident also severely damaged two MQ-9 Reaper drones, each valued at roughly $30 million, after debris from the interception landed in the area.

The reported strike comes as Trump reviews a proposal from Iran that would extend the current ceasefire for 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, and pave the way for further negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program.

Under the proposal, the US would also lift its maritime blockade while diplomatic discussions continue.

Trump met with senior national security advisers at the White House on Friday and said he expected to make a "final determination" on the proposal soon.

Ali Al Salem Air Base is located about 20 miles from the Iraqi border and has long served as a key hub for US military operations in the region. The facility played a significant role during Operation Iraqi Freedom and continues to host American personnel and equipment.

The reported attack underscores ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran despite efforts to reach a broader agreement aimed at preventing a renewed regional conflict.
