New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani strongly criticized the ongoing war on Iran, saying civilians abroad and working-class families in the United States are paying the price for a conflict “no one voted for.”

In a post published on X, Mamdani said the war began three months ago and has already caused heavy human and economic losses.

“Thousands of civilians have lost their lives,” Mamdani wrote, adding that “thirteen US servicemembers will never come home to their families.”

He also linked the conflict to growing financial pressure inside the United States, pointing to rising fuel and grocery prices.

Mamdani accused US leaders of launching the war without congressional authorization, saying Americans are now facing the consequences of decisions they did not make.

“Every life lost abroad and every dollar squeezed from a working family here is part of the same reckless bill,” he said.
