  • Jordan condemns Iranian missile and drone attacks on Kuwait, expresses full solidarity with the Gulf state.

Jordan on Wednesday condemned what it described as Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait with missiles and drones, calling the strikes a “flagrant violation” of Kuwaiti sovereignty and international law.

In a statement, Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates denounced the attacks as a threat to Kuwait’s security, stability and territorial integrity.

“The Kingdom of Jordan condemns the outrageous Iranian attacks on the sisterly State of Kuwait using missiles and drones,” the ministry said, according to a statement posted on social media.

The ministry said the attacks constituted “a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty” and “a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”

Jordan also expressed its “absolute solidarity” with Kuwait and support for any measures taken by Kuwaiti authorities to protect the country’s sovereignty, security, citizens and residents.

The statement comes after the US military said Iranian forces launched a ballistic missile toward Kuwait and several drones near the Strait of Hormuz, all of which were intercepted by Kuwaiti and US forces.
