  • Naval commandos have launched an operation hundreds of kilometers away from 'Israel' to seize a Gaza-bound humanitarian aid convoy.
  • Scores of participants have already been arrested and transferred to a floating prison setup ahead of their forced transport to Ashdod port.
  • Flotilla representatives insist that the interception of individual vessels will not deter the remaining convoy from attempting to reach the Gaza Strip.

A major military operation is currently underway in international waters as 'Israeli' naval forces have begun forcibly intercepting and seizing the Global Sumud Flotilla, a humanitarian aid convoy that recently departed Turkey bound for the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The military takeover is unfolding hundreds of kilometers away from the mainland, localized directly off the coast of Cyprus.

Elite forces have established a maritime holding system to process the detained passengers as the operation continues to expand across the convoy.

According to 'Israeli' media, the elite naval commando unit Shayetet 13 and other navy special forces have initiated a systematic takeover of the entire flotilla.

The operation to fully secure all vessels is highly complex and is projected to take several hours, with officials warning it could extend into tomorrow.

Thus far, forces have arrested 100 participants from the lead boats guiding the convoy.

These detainees have been transferred onto a specialized 'Israeli' naval vessel equipped with a floating prison block, where they will ultimately be transported to the port of Ashdod.

Al Jazeera correspondent reported that, four 'Israeli' warships approached the flotilla and issued direct military orders commanding the activists to immediately shut down the engines of all ships and boats.

The 'Israeli' army then began active interception maneuvers against the vessels.

Despite the aggressive naval crackdown, a source within the fleet stated that the interception of one ship does not mean the rest of the flotilla will stop its mission to reach Gaza.

Sumud response

The Global Sumud Flotilla issued an urgent statement calling governments to take immediate action to the interception.

"We demand safe passage for our legal, non-violent humanitarian mission. Governments must act now to stop these illegal acts or piracy meant to maintain Israel’s genocidal siege on Gaza. Normalization of the occupation’s violence is a threat to us all." The coalition stated.
