FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri González sparked attention on social media after sharing a series of photographs from the club's recent title celebrations in Barcelona, one of which prominently features the Palestinian flag.

The Instagram post, uploaded on May 12, captures the midfielder celebrating with fans on the streets of Barcelona following the successful league campaign.

In the caption, Pedri wrote in Spanish: “Que gran día ayer con nuestra gente por las calles de Barcelona Igual que les dije en 2025, nos volvemos a ver en un año… con las mismas o más cosas que celebrar” (translated: “What a great day yesterday with our people on the streets of Barcelona Just like I told them in 2025, we’ll see each other again in a year… with the same or more things to celebrate ”).

The carousel post includes multiple images from the festivities, with the fourth image drawing particular notice for displaying the Palestinian flag.

The gesture aligns with similar actions by other Barcelona players, including Lamine Yamal and Fermín López, who have also shared imagery featuring the flag during the celebrations.

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal waved a Palestinian flag at a victory parade that sparked ‘Israeli’ accusations of "inciting hatred".

‘Israeli’ Defence Minister Israel Katz lashed out at the Spain star on Thursday, saying he chose to "incite hatred".

"I hope a great and respected club like Barcelona distances itself from these remarks and makes it unambiguously clear that there is no place for incitement or support for terrorism," Katz said on X in Spanish.

Yamal's support for the Palestinian cause -- which enjoys widespread popularity in Spain -- has not gone unnoticed in Gaza.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said he "didn't like" Yamal's actions, but accepted that "if he wants to do it, it's his decision."
