Donald Trump posted a statement on Truth Social criticizing media coverage of Iran and its military capabilities.

He described claims that Iran is performing well militarily against the United States as “virtual TREASON,” calling them “false” and “preposterous,” and accused media outlets of “aiding and abetting the enemy.”

Trump said such coverage gives Iran “false hope when none should exist” and described critics as “American cowards that are rooting against our Country.”

In the post, he also claimed that Iran’s naval forces and military capabilities had been destroyed, saying its navy was “now resting at the bottom of the sea,” and that it had no navy, no air force, and no technology remaining. He further said Iran’s “leaders” were no longer present and described the country as an “economic disaster.”

He concluded the statement by saying that only “losers, ingrates, and fools” oppose the United States.

Iran on Tuesday rejected an "absolutely baseless" accusation from Kuwait that four Iranian officers attempted to infiltrate Bubiyan Island, saying they entered Kuwaiti waters because of disruption to navigational systems.

The foreign ministry said it "strongly condemns the improper action of the Kuwaiti government in politically and propagandistically exploiting the case".

Kuwait arrested the four earlier this month and on Tuesday accused them of being Revolutionary Guards officers.

Hebrew media reported Tuesday that a Hezbollah explosive drone hit an ‘Israeli’ military base in the north, as the pair continue to trade blows despite a truce agreement.

In a statement, the ‘Israeli’ military said a Hezbollah drone “exploded in territory, close to the border with Lebanon.”

The Pentagon said Tuesday the cost of the war with Iran had climbed to nearly $29 billion, as President Donald Trump faced mounting scrutiny over the conflict and its impact on military readiness.

The new figure, revealed by the Defense Department during a budget hearing on Capitol Hill, is about $4 billion higher than the estimate offered by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth two weeks ago.

Hegseth and General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, were testifying on a $1.5 trillion budget request for 2027 alongside Pentagon finance chief Jules Hurst III when they were asked for an update on the war's price tag.

"At the time of testimony... it was $25 billion dollars," Hurst told lawmakers, referring to Hegseth's April 29 estimate.

"But the joint staff team and the comptroller team are constantly looking at that estimate, and so now we think it's closer to 29," he said -- citing updated "repair and replacement of equipment costs" and broader operational expenses.

Pressed on when Congress would receive a fuller accounting of the war's costs, Hegseth said the administration would request "whatever we think we need" separately from the main Pentagon budget, but did not say when that supplemental request would arrive.

Democrats used the hearing to hammer the administration over both the ballooning cost of the war and what they described as a lack of transparency about US objectives.

"The question must be answered at the end -- what have we accomplished and at what cost?" asked Rosa DeLauro, the top Democrat on the House Appropriations Committee.

Fellow Democrat Betty McCollum accused the Pentagon of a "consistent lack of transparency" and demanded more clarity about the administration's long-term strategy before Congress approves additional funding.

The war has intensified concerns over rapidly depleting US weapons stockpiles after months of heavy missile and air-defense operations in the Middle East.

Hegseth dismissed warnings that the conflict had dangerously drained American munitions reserves.

"The munitions issue has been foolishly and unhelpfully overstated," he said.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a  statement on Tuesday, condemning the infiltration of an armed group affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into Kuwaiti soil.

The group reportedly targeted Bubiyan Island, a strategic location in northeastern Kuwait.

Jordan described the move as a "flagrant violation" of Kuwaiti sovereignty and a "dangerous threat" to regional security that openly defies international law and the UN Charter.

Strategic solidarity in a shaky truce

Jordan’s Ministry emphasized its total rejection of any actions that undermine the security of "brotherly Kuwait."

This diplomatic support comes at a precarious time, as the 2026 regional ceasefire remains under immense pressure from a series of "gray zone" attacks, including drone strikes on regional shipping and airspace violations.

Amman has increasingly positioned itself as a key security partner for the GCC states during the world, frequently participating in joint condemnations of Iranian-linked proxy activities.

The Ministry’s statement concluded by reaffirming Jordan’s support for all measures Kuwait takes to safeguard its national stability and the safety of its residents.

The ‘Israeli’ military said Tuesday it intercepted a drone “launched from the east” over Eilat in southern ‘Israel’, in what seems to be an attack from Yemen by the Iran-backed Houthis.

Sirens were not activated, and the ‘Israeli’ military is still investigating the drone’s origin, according to the statement.

This is the first drone attack on Eilat since the ‘Israeli’-US ceasefire with Iran took place last month.

Kuwait said Tuesday it foiled an attempt by four “infiltrators” of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who attempted to enter the country by sea.

The country’s ministry of defense said the four were “tasked with infiltrating Bubiyan Island aboard a fishing boat rented specifically to carry out hostile acts against Kuwait”.

According to the statement, one member of the Kuwaiti army was injured in clashes with the group, and two of the infiltrators managed to escape.

• Full withdrawal of 'Israeli' forces from all occupied Lebanese territories.
• Release of all Lebanese prisoners held by 'Israel'.
• Unconditional return of all displaced persons to their original towns and villages.
• Comprehensive reconstruction plan for areas devastated by the war.

He stated that once these five objectives are achieved, the group is prepared to discuss a "national defense strategy" with the Lebanese government.

Qassem specifically referenced the inaugural speech of President Joseph Aoun, who has called for a unified policy to remove the 'Israeli' occupation and defend the borders.

Rejection of direct negotiations

A central theme of the address was the rejection of direct diplomatic engagement with 'Israel'.

Qassem urged the Lebanese authorities to withdraw from direct talks currently being pursued in Washington, describing them as "gratuitous concessions" that benefit 'Israel' and the United States.

During a high-level meeting on Sunday centered on market regulation and the role of trade unions, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a warning to those attempting to exploit the national crisis for financial gain.

An 'Israeli' air strike on a residential house in Kafr Dunin in southern Lebanon killed six people and wounded seven others overnight, while 'Israeli' artillery also shelled the outskirts of al-Mansouri and Majdal Zun, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
