The ‘Israeli’ arms industry has accelerated the production rate of the Arrow interceptor missiles, as the likelihood of resumed conflict with Iran increases.

The director general of the ‘Israeli’ Defense Ministry, Amir Baram, met last week with senior ministry officials and the heads of major contractors – ‘Israel’ Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit Systems and Tomer, according to Haaretz.

"We must take advantage of the current days and continue to accelerate the production rate with full force," Baram said in the meeting.

‘Israel’ currently does not produce missile interceptors at the same rate that Iran makes its ballistic missiles, the report highlighted.

However, the decision to up the production rate is limited by the long and tedious process.

Each Arrow missile is made in a several-stage process and at multiple locations, and “much of the work is done by hand,” the report said.

The United States is also suffering from the same problem, manufacturing only 20 missiles for its THAAD system, which is the equivalent of ‘Israeli’ Arrow interceptor missiles.
