The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the Kingdom’s full support for Bahrain in all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability. It stressed the importance of deterring any attempts to undermine Bahrain’s sovereignty or interfere in its internal affairs.
Bahraini measures
Earlier, Bahrain introduced a set of security measures. Authorities in Manama have begun reassessing eligibility for citizenship in what officials describe as a corrective step targeting individuals accused of acts classified as “high treason” amid ongoing regional developments.
Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said that what he described as “malicious Iranian aggression” targeting Bahrain’s security and stability exposed those who had “betrayed their country.” He stressed that the nation comes above all and that Bahrain is a responsibility shared by all its citizens.
The measures come after Bahraini authorities announced the dismantling of alleged terrorist cells inside the country. Officials have accused members of these groups of coordinating with Iranian intelligence services, planning attacks against national security, and passing sensitive information to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
