Meanwhile, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz continued to rattle global markets, pushing the average price of gasoline in the United States to $4.30 per gallon, the sharpest single-day increase recorded in the past six weeks.
In Tehran, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei struck a defiant tone, insisting that Iran’s recent strategic gains are irreversible and delivering pointed messages to neighboring countries.
At the same time, tensions flared on the Lebanon border, where 'Israel' and Hezbollah continued to strike each other Saturday despite a declared ceasefire in Lebanon.
Trump says US could restart strikes on Iran: “If they misbehave”
US President Donald Trump told reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, that there is a possibility the United States could resume strikes on Iran, without specifying what could trigger renewed military action. “If they misbehave, if they do something bad, but right now, we’ll see,” Trump said. “But it’s a possibility that could happen, certainly.”

CENTCOM chief visits USS Tripoli in Arabian Sea during regional tour
US Central Command said Admiral Brad Cooper visited sailors and marines aboard the USS Tripoli in the Arabian Sea during a regional trip. Cooper, who oversees US military operations in the Middle East and took part in talks in Islamabad last month, made the visit as the US naval blockade continues in the nearby Gulf of Oman, where the vessel is operating.
Trump says will soon review new Iran proposal, but not likely to accept
US President Donald Trump said Saturday he would soon review the latest peace proposal from Iran, but cast doubt on its prospects.
"I will soon be reviewing the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but can't imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years," he said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Three killed in 'Israeli' strike in southern Lebanon
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) says an 'Israeli' strike on the town of al-Sama’iya in the Tyre district killed three people, despite an extended ceasefire that began on April 17, 2026.
