  • US Attorney Jeanine Pirro says footage shows suspect shooting Secret Service officer.
  • Alleged incident described as assassination attempt during White House Correspondents’ Dinner period.
  • FBI and prosecutors continue investigation, according to official statement.

US Attorney Jeanine Pirro said on social media that newly released video evidence shows a man identified as Cole Allen shooting a US Secret Service officer during what she described as an attempted assassination of the President near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

In a post on X, Pirro said the footage had already been provided to a US District Court and was being released publicly as part of the ongoing investigation.

Pirro stated there is “no evidence” suggesting the shooting resulted from friendly fire. She added that the video also shows Allen allegedly conducting surveillance inside the Hilton Hotel the day before the incident.

Authorities have not independently detailed the full circumstances of the alleged attack beyond the claims outlined in her statement.

Pirro said her office is working alongside the FBI to continue what she described as an extensive investigation aimed at bringing Allen to justice.

“The video also shows Allen casing the area in the Hilton Hotel the day before the attack,” she said in her post.

The FBI has not yet publicly released additional details on the case beyond confirming an ongoing investigation.

The alleged incident, if confirmed, would raise significant concerns about security vulnerabilities during high-profile federal events in Washington, particularly those involving the President and senior officials.
