  • Netanyahu adviser says Hezbollah repeatedly breached ceasefire terms.
  • ‘Israel’ says it is responding with strikes targeting Hezbollah fighters.

A senior adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement, saying renewed hostilities were triggered by repeated breaches from the Lebanese group.

In an interview with CNN, Netanyahu’s foreign policy adviser Ophir Falk said ‘Israel’ was responding forcefully to what he described as Hezbollah violations.

“Hezbollah is breaching the ceasefire. That’s not surprising, and we’re hitting them back very hard,” Falk said.

Falk accused the Iran-backed group of targeting ‘Israeli’ civilians, saying ‘Israel’ was responding by striking Hezbollah militants.

“Hezbollah has taken Lebanon hostage for the past decade or so,” he said, adding that the group targets civilians while ‘Israel’ claims to focus its military operations on Hezbollah fighters.

The remarks come amid escalating tensions along the Lebanon border, where sporadic exchanges of fire have raised concerns over the durability of the ceasefire.
