His comments came after arriving in St Petersburg, where he is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin for consultations on regional developments and the ongoing conflict.

Pakistan talks linked to possible Iran-US diplomacy

Araghchi said his visit to Islamabad was “very productive,” noting that discussions included reviews of past developments and conditions under which negotiations between Iran and the United States could potentially resume.

He said officials held “good consultations” that examined the evolving regional situation and possible diplomatic pathways, though no concrete agreement was announced.

Oman discussions focus on Strait of Hormuz

On his visit to Oman, Araghchi said talks centered on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime route shared by both countries.

He emphasized that Iran and Oman, as coastal states of the Strait, maintain a shared responsibility for ensuring safe passage and regional stability.

“It is natural that as the two coastal nations of this Strait, we must engage in dialogue to ensure our common interests are met,” he was quoted as saying.

Araghchi added that there is a “high degree of consensus” between Tehran and Muscat, with both sides agreeing to continue consultations at an expert level.

Coordination with Russia ahead of Putin meeting

Speaking upon arrival in Russia, Araghchi said his visit aims to maintain “close consultations between Tehran and Moscow on regional and international issues.”

He said his upcoming meeting with Putin will provide an opportunity to review “developments in the war” and assess the latest situation on the ground.

“I am confident that these consultations and coordination between the two countries in this regard will be of particular importance,” he said.
