Intense security activity was reported in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, with increased deployments near the Red Zone area that hosts key government institutions.

The developments coincided with a reported sudden change in the schedule and meetings of Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during his visit to the city.

In a statement, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said Araghchi discussed ongoing Israeli strikes on Lebanon during his meeting with Pakistan’s prime minister. He also outlined Iran’s position on ceasefire efforts and the end of hostilities.

Araghchi reportedly praised the Pakistani government’s attention to implementing the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, according to the ministry.
