A Russian drone strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro overnight killed two people and injured at least eight others, regional authorities said.
Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said among the wounded were two girls, aged 9 and 14, who were hospitalized following the attack. Three injured adults were also admitted to hospital, with doctors assessing all cases as moderate.
“Two people have been killed and eight injured… One person is still unaccounted for,” Hanzha said in a statement on Telegram.
Authorities said drone strikes hit residential areas across the city, including a multi-story apartment building. Fires broke out in several districts, with multiple apartments set ablaze.
Emergency services responded to the scene as officials continued assessing the extent of the damage and casualties.
Dnipro, located in southeastern Ukraine, has repeatedly come under Russian missile and drone attacks since the start of the full-scale war.
