Iran will close the strategic Strait of Hormuz again if the United States continues its blockade of Iranian ports, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Saturday.

"With the continuation of the blockade, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open," Ghalibaf wrote on X, adding that passage through the waterway would depend on authorisation from Iran.

US President Donald Trump said Saturday that the naval blockade on Iran will end when a full agreement is reached with the Islamic Republic.

Trump said that any potential differences will be “straightened out”.

“There could be [differences] with Iran. If there are, we will have to straighten it out, but I don’t think there are too many significant differences,” Trump told reporters.

“When the agreement is signed, the blockade [on Iran] ends,” he added.
