In a letter to the UN and Security Council members on Sunday, Araghchi warned that striking nuclear facilities “could lead to widespread radioactive contamination and serious consequences for populations and the environment.”

Calls for International Oversight of Israeli Nuclear Sites

Araghchi also urged the Security Council to ensure that ‘Israel’ is included under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and called for the International Atomic Energy Agency to monitor Israeli nuclear facilities.

Ongoing US–‘Israel’ War on Iran

Since February 28, ‘Israel’ and the us have conducted coordinated strikes on Iran, killing hundreds, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior security officials. Iran has retaliated with missile and drone attacks on ‘Israel’ and strikes on what it says are us interests in the region. Some of these attacks have caused civilian casualties and property damage, drawing condemnation from affected countries.

The latest demands from Iran signal an escalating legal and diplomatic front alongside the ongoing military war.
