Roya correspondent and medical sources reported Sunday that the town of Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus, came under a large-scale and violent attack by groups of settlers.

Sources said the attackers set fire to residential homes, with flames seen rising from multiple locations, sparking panic among residents.

Injuries reported

The Palestine Red Crescent said its teams handled nine injuries during the assault, including a 45-year-old man shot in the foot with live ammunition. Six others were severely beaten, including an elderly man and a 56-year-old woman.

Additional cases included one person suffering from smoke inhalation due to fires and tear gas, and another injured after a fall that resulted in a fractured femur. A child was among the injured, along with a civil defense member who was targeted during rescue efforts.

Rescue efforts obstructed

Reports indicated significant difficulty for ambulances attempting to reach the wounded and fire sites due to the presence of settlers, alongside 'Israeli' forces providing protection to the attackers.

These coordinated assaults are part of a series of attacks targeting villages in the Nablus area, aiming to undermine residents’ livelihoods and force displacement.

Roya’s correspondent added that the settlers have since withdrawn from Deir al-Hatab, while civil defense crews continue working to extinguish the fires.
