UAE intercepts 345 missiles, 1,773 drones from Iran

On March 22, 2026, the United Arab Emirates announced its air defenses intercepted four ballistic missiles and 25 drones launched from Iran.
Since the start of the recent Iranian attacks, UAE air defenses have intercepted a total of 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,773 drones.
The strikes have resulted in the deaths of two armed forces personnel on duty and six civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationality.
Another 160 people were injured, with wounds ranging from minor to severe, including UAE nationals and residents from Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
UAE Ministry of Defense emphasized that it remains fully prepared to respond to any threats, asserting its commitment to protecting national security, sovereignty, and the country’s strategic interests.
