An ‘Israeli’ soldier was killed in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip after being struck by friendly fire, the military announced on Wednesday.

The soldier was identified as Staff Sgt. Ofri Yafe, 21 years old, of the Paratroopers Brigade’s Reconnaissance Unit.

According to an initial probe by the ‘Israeli’ military, two units from the Paratroopers Brigade were doing “routine” operations near the so-called “Yellow Line” in Khan Younis. One of the units mistakenly identified the second one as an enemy and opened fire.

The soldier was injured and later succumbed to his wounds as he was being evacuated.

The total number of ‘Israeli’ soldiers killed on various fronts since the events of October 7, 2023 has risen to 925
