Venezuela minister blames opposition after Machado ally rearrested

Venezuela's hardline interior minister on Monday blasted the opposition's "stupidity" after a close ally of Nobel laureate Maria Corina Machado was rearrested Sunday hours after being released from prison and demanding free elections.

"Nothing happened until the stupidity of some politicians, who thought they could do whatever they wanted and stir up trouble in the country," Diosdado Cabello told a press conference, referring to former National Assembly vice president Juan Pablo Guanipa.
