  • US Justice Department grants Congress members unrestricted access to Jeffrey Epstein case files.
  • Over 3 million documents become available for review at DOJ facilities starting February 9.

The US Justice Department has authorized members of Congress to review the full, unredacted case files of late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, accused of running a sexual exploitation and underage trafficking network.

The department announced Friday that Congress members could access more than three million previously published documents starting February 9, unredacted, according to Axios.

Lawmakers wishing to review the files must notify the Justice Department 24 hours in advance, and access is limited to computers inside DOJ facilities. They may take notes but are prohibited from creating electronic copies of the documents.

The release follows January 31, when Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the publication of more than three million new documents for public review as part of the Epstein investigations.

Epstein, who ran a vast sexual exploitation network targeting minors, some as young as 14, was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial.

The case files include the names of numerous prominent figures, including Prince Andrew, former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, singer Michael Jackson, and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
