Yarin residents welcome Lebanese prime minister with rice, roses

Residents of the Lebanese border town of Yarin welcomed Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Saturday with rice and roses, offering a warm popular reception during his tour of several towns in southern Lebanon.

Salam arrived in Yarin as part of a series of field visits aimed at assessing residents’ needs and reinforcing the state’s presence in border areas that have previously faced repeated attacks. During the visit, he met with local figures and municipal officials amid a welcoming atmosphere from residents.

As a symbolic gesture of appreciation, some residents presented Salam with a traditional Arab cloak, reflecting the social and historical ties between the local community and the state.

The visit comes within the framework of a broader tour of southern towns, during which Salam is scheduled to meet political and community representatives, in an effort to reaffirm state support for citizens and strengthen trust following a period of security and economic challenges.
