A second round of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine mediated by the United States has begun in the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine's lead negotiator announced Wednesday.

"Another round of negotiations has begun in Abu Dhabi," the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, wrote on social media, adding Kyiv's team was seeking "to achieve a just and lasting peace."
Talks amid Escalating Violence
Two people were killed by a Russian drone strike on Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, a local official announced Wednesday, as the two countries were set to begin US-brokered peace talks in Abu Dhabi later the same day.
"A 68-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were killed" in the attack on Synelnykivsky district, Mykola Lukashuk, the head of the regional administration, said on Telegram.
