Jordan andother Arab, Islamic countries issue joint statement

"Amman, 1 February 2026 – The Foreign Ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire, which have resulted in the killing and injuring of more than 1,000 Palestinians.

The ministers warned that such actions risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts to consolidate calm and restore stability. This comes as regional and international actors work to advance the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan and implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803."

Ceasefire violations threaten peace process

According to the statement, repeated breaches constitute a direct threat to the political process, hindering ongoing efforts to create the conditions necessary for a more stable Gaza. The ministers emphasized the need for full commitment to ensure the success of the second phase of President Trump’s plan.

Call for restraint and recovery

The ministers called on all parties to uphold their responsibilities during this critical period, exercise maximum restraint, preserve the ceasefire, and refrain from actions that could derail progress. They stressed the importance of creating conditions for early recovery, reconstruction, and advancing a just and lasting peace based on Palestinians’ right to self-determination and statehood, in line with international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab peace initiative.
