The actions called for the release of Palestinian detainees held in ‘Israeli’ jails, lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip, ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid, and stopping arms supplies to Tel Aviv.

Worldwide protests and digital campaigns

The mobilization was launched by the “World Rises for Palestine” campaign, part of the Global Campaign to Save Prisoners, in coordination with the Red Bands Campaign and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, among others.

Planned activities included mass demonstrations in major cities, protest vigils, and large solidarity marches in capitals such as London and Paris. Organizers also rolled out coordinated digital campaigns across social media platforms.

Participants were urged to take to the streets or wear red bands as a symbol of solidarity, rejecting injustice and affirming Palestinians’ right to freedom and dignity.

Focus on detainees and prison conditions

Organizers highlighted the situation of Palestinian detainees facing systematic abuse and torture in ‘Israeli’ prisons, calling for international pressure to ensure fair trials and secure their release.

In a Telegram statement, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition said, “Occupation forces have violated international law for seventy-eight years to maintain a system built on fear, control, and displacement.”

The statement added that mass detention is a central tool of occupation, with thousands of Palestinians, including children, women, and the elderly, held without charge or trial and subjected to torture, deprivation, and humiliation in military prisons. It accused media outlets of obscuring their stories.

The coalition noted that while global attention often focuses on ‘Israeli’ captives in Gaza, more than nine thousand Palestinian detainees remain imprisoned, urging the world to break its silence.

9,200 Palestinian detainees

‘Israel’ continues to hold about 9,200 Palestinian detainees as of early 2026, According to figures from detainee rights organizations.

Recently released detainees described extremely harsh conditions, with visible signs of torture and starvation. Some reported developing serious mental health conditions due to sustained abuse.

“The genocide is not over”

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign said ‘Israeli’ genocidal crimes against Palestinians in Gaza have not ended, calling on supporters to join a major march in London to pressure the British government to “end its complicity in ‘Israeli’ violence.”

Since a ceasefire agreement in Gaza took effect on October 10, ‘Israeli’ forces have killed 492 Palestinian martyrs and wounded 1,356 others through repeated violations of the truce.
