The US Treasury Department announced on Friday a new package of targeted economic sanctions against the Iranian regime, reinforcing President Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure” strategy.
The sanctions cover a range of commercial companies as well as seven individuals in leadership positions within networks that facilitate Iran’s circumvention of international financial restrictions. The sanctions list includes Interior Minister Eskandar Moameni.
